Terms & Conditions
PROSPEROUS ACADEMY OF DANCE AND MUSICAL THEATRE
Terms and Conditions 2025
These T&Cs apply to all students and their parents/guardians and must be adhered to while your child is enrolled at Prosperous Academy of Dance and Musical Theatre.
---
Fees
- Fees are due on the 20th of each month (e.g., on 20th September, you pay for October).
- Fees must be paid monthly and apply to all scheduled classes, including those you miss due to personal holidays.
- Payment is not required for four weeks per year: two weeks in summer and two weeks at Christmas, when the academy is closed. We evenly divide the monthly fees between the weeks we operate a year, so we take out the 4 weeks a year we are not open, so all months have equal fees, making it easier to know exactly your scheduled payment and there are no fluctuations between months etc.
- A £5 late fee will be applied per child if payment is not received by the 20th of the month. For example, if you are 3 weeks late you have a £15 late fee added onto your invoice.
- If you wish to discontinue classes, a one-month notice is required. Notice must be given before the 20th of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.
- Payments must be made via our website through Class4Kids or the alternative payment method provided.
---
Attendance
- Regular attendance is essential for students progress.
- If your child is unable to attend a class, please notify our admin team as early as possible via email or text message.
- As stated above, fees remain payable regardless of absences.
---
Hair
- Students must wear their hair in a middle-parting bun for every class.
- Students with Afro/Textured hair are of course able to have their hair in cornrows/braids as long as long braids are tied up securely.
-If your child's hair length does not allow for a bun, it should still be neatly pulled back and away from the face.
---
Jewellery
- No jewellery is permitted during classes or performances.
---
Uniform
- The official academy uniform is compulsory for all classes, competitions, and events.
- For the first month, students may wear appropriate attire such as leggings, shorts, vests, and t-shirts.
- After the first month, purchasing the full uniform is required. A uniform list will be provided upon enrolment.
---
Notices & Communication
- Important information, class schedules, and invoices will be sent via Class4Kids and/or WhatsApp. Please check your emails regularly.
---
Hall Policy
- Parents/guardians are not permitted to wait inside the building during class.
- Please drop off and pick up your child promptly. Arrive 5 minutes before class starts and 5 minutes before class ends.
- If your child wears nappies, you must remain in the local area in case a nappy change is needed.
---
Bullying Policy
- Bullying, including verbal or cyberbullying, is not tolerated.
- Any reports of bullying will be taken seriously, and a meeting with parents/Careers will be arranged if necessary.
---
Pupils & Parents
- Students are encouraged to practice at home to support their in-class development.
- As the academy grows, additional training opportunities will be available, including:
- Private 1:1 lessons
- Company Competition Training
- Aerial Hoop Skills
- And more!
- Additional classes will incur an extra fee—stay updated for announcements.
- Our faculty consists of industry professionals, and on rare occasions, teachers may be absent due to performing work commitments. Cover teachers will always be arranged, and lessons will very rarely be canceled. Learning from different choreographers enhances students’ versatility, which we highly value.
- We strive to provide exclusive industry opportunities through our professional connections.
---
Compulsory Competitions
- All students who attend Monday classes are required to participate in the mandatory competitions scheduled throughout the season.
- Typically, there are only three mandatory competitions per academic year.
- If a student withdraws from a compulsory event, it lets down the entire team, as routines that have been meticulously rehearsed and perfected will need to be adjusted.
- If there is a valid and unavoidable conflict (such as a wedding, funeral, or childbirth), parents must inform the academy as soon as competition dates are released so that we can adequately prepare the rest of the team.
---
External Programmes & Activities
- Participation in external associate programmes, amateur shows, workshops, or any other dance-related activities outside of Prosperous Academy must be approved in advance by the Principal of Prosperous Academy before joining them.
- The academy reserves the right to approve or deny participation in any activity that may be considered a conflict of interest.
- Once/If approval is granted, it is understood that all vital rehearsals, competitions, events, and performances at Prosperous Academy take priority over external commitments.
- We encourage students to challenge themselves and grow as performers, and we will always support their progress—provided it does not conflict with their commitment to the academy.
---
Additional Policies
- Students may only bring a bottle of water to class and a small snack if needed.
- The admin office operates within specific hours, but we will always do our best to respond to messages as quickly as possible. Please understand that our work extends beyond normal office hours—we spend countless hours outside of teaching handling administrative tasks, music editing, invoice management, competition entires, costumes and much more. Being a Dance School Owner is a 24/7 job which we absolutely love, we are committed to being available whenever we can, but please bare with us if you don’t get an immediate response.
